Pet Lovers Info...
Sue
I have always had a love and respect for animals and have been in the grooming industry since 1967. In 1973, I opened a grooming shop in Pittsburgh, Sue's Pet Parlor, the only shop in the Pittsburgh area that was under the original ownership for 31 years. Now under new ownership as of 2004.

I am vice-president director for Animal Care & Welfare Inc., a non-profit organization, established in 1970 by Edward J. Blotzer Jr. AC&W provides humane education, low cost spaying and neutering, as well as financial help with pet emergency medical expenses for low income families. We also assist with animal cruelty prevention in Pennsylvania.
The adoption program for homeless pets that I started at Sue's Pet Parlor, is very successful at finding homes for over 100 homeless pets per year. I carefully select and temperament test homeless pets from the local animal shelters. They are then spayed and neutered, learn basic training, groomed and are adopted into loving homes from the pet resort.
Because of the admiration I have for animals, I decided that pampered pets need a vacation place with lots of TLC while their owners are away. That's why I established, Paws Here Awhile Pet Resort Inc.
I live on the premises so your pet will never be left alone.
Personalized attention is my main focus!

Jan
Jan has cared for pets at the resort since 2003. She has a dog, cat and horses of her own. Jan has always shared a love for animals and has helped in rescuing abused horses along with other farm animals. She has fostered and rehabilitated horses that were starved by their owners.
Sue 2
Sue goes by "Sue 2" because it gets a little confusing with two people named Sue, at the Resort. She has worked at the resort since 2005 and absolutely has found her job for life. Sue previously worked at an animal shelter in West Virginia caring for countless sick homeless pets. She has a genuine compassion for all pets which makes her a great care taker. Sue has 3 dogs and lots of cats of her own. All vacationing pets at the resort greet her with lots of kisses and tail wags.

Cindy
Cindy has over 7 years experience managing boarding faciltities, so she brings a lot of knowledge to the resort. She also worked and volunteered at an animal shelter in West Virginia. Cindy absolutely loves working with pets and their people! She has a big heart for animals that need a home, now owning 2 dogs and 4 cats that she rescued.
April
April is our professional groomer at the resort. She has a real talent when it comes to grooming dogs and cats. April has always wanted to be involved with a rescue and help save homeless animals. Well she came to the right place. April adopted this cute little dog when we accepted 30 Chihuahuas from a hoarding situation. April loves her job here at the resort and could not image doing anything else.
Nikki
Nikki has always had a big heart for animals. She worked in a corporate environment in the Human Resources Department for 3 years before she decided to leave and join us at the pet resort. She finds working with animals to be much more fulfilling, and she loves to help with rescuing dogs and cats. She owns 2 dogs and 1 cat, all from the same rescue facility.
Sam
Sam came to the Pet Resort volunteering 30 hours for her Senior Project. Her motivation and natural ability to care for pets has kept her here after completing her Senior Project and graduating from highschool! Sam is working her way to being a Pet Care Professional while also learning the trade of professional grooming. Sam considers herself lucky to have found us, but the truth is we are lucky to have found her!
