Paws Here Awhile offers your pet the most comprehensive enrichment program of any pet resort in the Pittsburgh Area! By providing activities and exercises that match your dogs drives we keep your dog mentally and physically happy while they are boarding us. Dogs whose lives are enriched, don't pine for their owners, stop eating or bark themselves hoarse. They have fun, learn new things and sleep well at night at our Luxury Pet Resort. Our activities include running through tunnels, swim and splash time, chasing play sessions with a variety of balls, sticks or frisbees, VIP kitchen time with us and free handouts! Our knowledgeable staff will satisfy your dogs need to bound, pounce, sprint and beg! Like being spoiled at grandma's house!
Our stimulation program for cats is phenomenal! While enjoying all the comforts of home we spark their curiosity with country setting bird watching, climbing/hiding trees, chase toys, unlimited TV and sun filled patio access all day long. Cat vacationers thrive during petting sessions provided by our pet care professionals. We take pride that we are the top cat care facility in the Pittsburgh area!
With our cozy private rooms, we provide a quiet place for pets, that allows them to feel safe and comfortable.
At full capacity, we can accommodate 18 families. This allows us to focus our attention on special needs vacationers. Our highly skilled staff has experience caring for pets with all kinds of medical issues and are very much aware of changes in behavior. We also do not discriminate against pets with temperament issues. If your pet is not dog friendly, they are welcome to go out alone in the play yard and never have to come in contact with another dog.
We go the extra mile to be sure your pet is content while staying with us. At no extra charge to you, we fit your dog with a Thunder Shirt during their stay, if we feel they are suffering from anxiety. These shirts reduce stress and anxiety in dogs. Some dogs are just more anxious than others and Thunder Shirts take the edge off, calming the pet so they can enjoy their stay. You can also purchase these shirts here, to help your dog at home during thunder storms, separation anxiety and any other stress related times. In addition, busy dogs sometimes need extra structure to their day, so we will offer them a peanut butter filled Kong, to re-route the extra energy. This is also a complimentary service.
The majority of our staff have been here for years and with a friendly working relationship among the care takers, your pets are in the best hands. All our vacationing pets will tell you, "We love our job!"
